I want to get one so I can make decals for various things. How good are they, though? Is the cheapest one good enough or should I spring for the newest model?

I bought my wife a Silhouette for Christmas. After destroying a few beds, she loves loves loves it. For feeling lightweight, I’m impressed at how it has held up.

My girlfriend’s mom has had one or two. I’ll try to find out what model.

Ok, I’m not ashamed to admit that I basically spent 10 hours researching this. I ended up getting the Maker for a few reasons. The main one, though, was the cutting of fabric that my wife uses a lot. The tool swapping is WAY easier on the maker and the explore air than the cartridge system on the older ones, so don’t go older than the explore air 2, which is about $200, while the maker is at least $100-$150 more than that.  If you aren’t going to cut fabrics, and maybe leather (this was the clincher for me) than the EA2 is the one.  Otherwise, the maker is a good investment for future possibilities.  Make sure to check the book of face marketplace for a used one, just in case.  AMA, I guess?

When I read “Silhouette ” I thought of the van and was going to say how could you bestow that horror upon anyone.

As proof  that I did not, in fact, buy my wife a Minivan, I would like to place into evidence: The fact that I am alive, and not sleeping in the garage.
